Interview with Backyard Wedding Basics
Please take a moment to read this before purchasing from Backyard Wedding Basics
How long have you been doing what you do and how did you become a backyard wedding expert? Expert… well, my first daughter to get married was Lesly and that was in Aug. of 2007 and then Eryn our second daughter was married in July of 2010. Both girls were married in our backyard, one with 300 guest in attendance and the other with 250. These girls are very different and so were their weddings. I guess you could say I’ve been through it twice and have gained allot of knowledge through these experiences. www.denisonridge.com was also born out of these backyard weddings. This is a wedding and event facility in our backyard. So… we continue to gain experience each summer as we host additional weddings. I talk to brides, mother of the bride and groom, fathers, wedding coordinators, guest… you get the picture.
Can you tell me what sets you apart from all the other backyard wedding experts out there. Um, my backyard is different than theirs? Lol! My situation is and was different than theirs? Every wedding is different, no big surprise there. I’m a wife, mother, grandmother and live on 20 acres with lots to do. I have written an eBook and continue to write articles on this subject. I have also created a membership site where you can access everything you need to help in planning that backyard wedding. I know a wedding can be consuming. We all need a way to keep things under control and uncomplicated. I was looking forward to enjoying every minute of my daughters wedding adventure as I’m sure you are. With that being said… we need to be very organized and focused.
I started looking around on the Internet and library for a way to keep all our wedding ideas, thoughts and everything else organized. This was a great place to start. However, most of the material I found made it to complicated. There was way to much information to wade through. There were forms and charts we would never use and huge binders that you wouldn’t want to haul around with you. So, I created my own system to keep things organized, under control, and as uncomplicated as possible. In the membership site is where I have all the wonderful tools to use in keepinig things organized. I even have some interviews of people involved with backyard weddings.
Feeling overwhelmed was not how I wanted to feel for months, and I’m sure you do not want to either! Everyone I knew had a wedding story and some were not very good. “I would never do it again”, “it’s so stressful”, “ I’m so glad it’s over”. I’m sure we have all heard a wedding story or two. There is so much to deal with… ask me how I know this?!
When Lesly, my first daughter was married we decided it was to be a celebration and not a production. With that in mind we tried to make her wedding very family friendly, relaxed and fun. Knowing that helped us in our decision making process. We ended up having the best time before, during and after the wedding possible. Why? Because we remained organized and focused. Focused on people, priorities and our goal. We tried to keep things simple and not let things get out of hand.
Understand we still had to deal with all kinds of issues, emotions and being so exhausted at times that we were very glad when it was bedtime. We had obstacles to deal with, and sometimes on a daily basis. I don’t want you to get the impression there were no ups and downs, because there most definitely were. And… there will be for you too!
Backyard wedding Basics is my story. I share all, the good, the bad and the ugly. Backyard Wedding Basics is not a Martha Stewart book on weddings. Please do not purchase this eBook if that’s what you are looking for. What it is, is a very down to earth look at our family’s backyard wedding. The purpose of the book is to let you know you can do a backyard wedding and save a lot of money in the process. I share what ours was like in hopes that you will feel a bit less apprehensive about attempting one, or you might just learn that a backyard wedding is just not for you!
This sounds like a must read if you are planning a backyard wedding, so how expensive is the eBook? Backyard Wedding Basics is $15.00 and really does give you a great look into what happens during a Backyard Wedding.
Who is not going to benefit from Backyard Wedding Basics? This book is for the DIY (do-it-yourself) family. If you are going to hire everything done you wont need Backyard Wedding Basics. This book is for the family looking to save money, ready to roll up your sleeves, and work hard.
Will you be available for questions I might have? Of course, just contact me.
